The Aoi Family Manor
Nestled upon the borderlands between the Northern Region and Central Region of Universe 7’s Earth during Age 2,438, the Aoi Family Estate stood as a symbol of ancient prestige reborn through modern brilliance. Vast marble pathways cut through endless flower gardens and emerald fields, guiding visitors toward a towering manor adorned with royal spires and timeless architecture. Crystal fountains shimmered beneath the sunlight while rows of sculpted hedges and sacred statues lined the estate grounds, creating an atmosphere of serene grandeur rarely found outside the domains of kings or gods. Despite its peaceful appearance, the estate carried an unspoken weight a place where generations of the Aoi bloodline cultivated both refinement and overwhelming martial power and Scientific Advancement, its very air heavy with history, and discipline.

The youngest sibling of the Aoi families twins, just by a few seconds; his black loafers clicked upon the marble pathways through the gardens of the Manor. Slowly getting distance from the large fountain, Celius Aoi wore shin high socks, black loafers, kaki shorts, a button up white short sleeve t-shirt and blue sweater vest. His hair which lacked the unorthodox bangs his elder brother who was considered vastly more prodigal, with sapphire blue eyes staring towards the skies, Celius was always the one to work the hardest unlike his brother. Viewing his efforts as the only way to not be overshadowed by Mazu, his hands remained in his pockets as he walked forth towards a specific spot in the garden where most of his memories with his twin brother was held, between sword practice, sparring, competitions that can be described as childish and petty, to them actually brawling out of frustration where their mother and father were forced to pull them apart. These very memories always contained his father scolding Celius, and his mother always trying to comfort him. But for Celius himself, these memories only burned the necessity to grow even stronger so that for once he can surpass his brother. Where Mazu learned how to tap into Ki at the age of 4, it took Celius till the age of 5 to even learn how to utilize his own spiritual energy and mold it into a specific Alter-Ki manipulation where he could form blades of ki for ranged attacks. Each step which took him closer to that specific spot, the songs of birds which filled the air, the warm weather of 72 degrees F, with mild breeze of 2 mph winds bringing a cool sensation. His black hair fluttered with grace as slowly but surely he finally stepped foot upon the grass, his gaze observing the tree's where their trunks were bashed brutally during his and Mazu's sword fights, rocks that were shattered by Mazu when they were five. Each scar and battered piece in this spot was but a reminder of how much Mazu had outshined him, and like every other time, the moment Celius stepped into this spot it meant he wanted to outshine Mazu.

1780877005689.pngA child of prodigy

An expert-level genius in the body of an infant

First child of the Aoi

Mazu Aoi had grown accustomed to such flamboyant titles and inflated compliments pouring out from his family and the servants whom worked upon and within the manor. Only a child, yet some whispered to the boy’s possible benefit to the world at large. One side of a family’s newly discovered hope to bind the strings that form the Red Ribbons of Fate that will lead them into a Utopian future. Sauntering past several of the younger maids as he ventured through the halls of the upper level, he offered them a quick nod and wave or a gracious but slight bow and awkward chuckle depending on the severity of their praise. His attitude had long since grown complacent, no longer taking any of their words to heart. No longer feeling the excitement found in praise, he wouldn’t stop to talk to any of them for long, aiming to meet his predetermined appointment in the grounds below. While his mother and their workers doted on the child, it was not their approval that Mazu wished to attain. His long-held desire and hope was the attention of one person. His goal was simply to impress, even one time, the patriarch to this family.

The scientific head of Red Ribbon Corps:

Dr. Ajani Aoi.

The eldest of the two twins, neither seemed to ever gain the affections of their father, each going as far as to even get into physical conflicts and training their hardest in their respective fields to finally gain their parents’ attention… To no avail. While Celius became a recognized expert-level swordsman with proficiency in nearly every slashing and piercing weapon just last year at the meager age of five, and Mazu’s own recognition as a a Prodigy and Master of the Bo-staff and the connected bludgeoning melee weapons - the only person of their household that was ever-missing from their events and competitions were their father: Dr.Aoi Sr. While the younger brother acted to join their academy's social infrastructure and began to gain a reputation as a figure of Justice, the Older decided to follow in his Father’s footsteps and began to study within differing fields of science in hopes that it would draw the man closer. Two young boys, clambering to be the apple of their father's eye. The true heir of the Aoi Family.

A most pitiful and saddening display of the fundamental moments in one’s youth that go on to mold the foundations of the divergent futures of these two warriors…

One, bound to the celestial throne and protector of the sacred timeline. A hero. A protector…

The other… A Callous scientist, hellbent on returning what is back to what was. A villain in the eyes of the universe… One no longer bound by the limits of the Omni…

However, in his youth, Mazu had yet to come to learn of his tragic fate. 1780877160443.png

Only six years old, he had yet to learn of what awaited him at the end of this day…

Reaching up and grabbing the banister wrapping around a spiraling staircase leading down into the main floor’s entranceway, he’d leap up to firmly plant his feet along the railing before allowing a slight push and the following pull of gravity to slide him downwards towards his goal. His unruly bangs flung from their resting positions along his brow as he gained speed, revealing the bright orange eyes of the child beaming gleefully as he released a joyous howl to mark his descent.

Mazu: “And here… we… GOOOOO!!!”

The boy’s laughter could be heard all the way into the upper observatories, as for a few moments, Mazu could move at speeds unnatural to his youthful frame - similar to a small rollercoaster or park ride. Zooming past one of the researchers on his way to meet with his father in his study above, the child thought it funny to reach out and allow his hand to playfully jostle the stack of papers held within the researcher's arms, causing the stack to plume into an outburst of fluttering papers. Screaming out and waving his fist at the boy, the man’s anger was palpable, only bringing more humor to the young Mazu’s antics. It wasn’t an act of malice, moreso a playful evil from an audacious young boy. Noticing the end of the staircase, fearless leaping from the banister and allowing his body to sail through the air, the boy’s feet slammed into the marble entryway flooring with an audible ~SLAP~. While being an almost graceful landing, the boy’s speed would nearly throw him into a disastrous tumble. Panicking for a split moment, thinking fast, the boy would move his arms forward as he slid to gain stability from his dismount. As he came to a full stop , elated at the success of his playful entrance, the boy would childishly throw his arms upwards and cheer as if placing in an Olympic gymnastics event.

Mazu: “JACKPOT!!!”

His voice echoing throughout the compound, it wasn’t long until Mazu could hear the snickering of his family’s employees as nearby workers and researchers found solace in the youth displayed and joy found in such trivial acts. Some even going as far as to compliment or congratulate his act, the boy couldn’t help but feel the corners of his mouth begin to tug upward as he hurriedly ran out the door - head down in slight embarrassment at those witnesses who were smiling at him from nearby. A home filled with love and affection, a family without any to be found… Aside from one… The mother of these two children. One who hadn’t left her room in the last 5 years… The one whom nearly died to give these twins life…

~CREAAAAAAK~

Pushing at the massive doors of the Aoi family home, though his feet comically skid against the ground in his attempts to gain leverage, Mazu managed to open the oak frame and make his way out into the gardens to locate his brother. His best friend. His rival. Almost skipping his way down the few steps leading to the cobblestone paths, the Ki sensory techniques taught to him by his uncle, Tien, came in handy to quickly guide him towards Celius. Another benefit granted to him through his connection with the old monk that Celius himself had forsaken, having taken differing routes with differing mentors. Though the two looked nearly identical, their personalities and paths were polar opposites. One, stoic and sociable, the other, reclusive and studious. It was in these moments of training, sparring with one another till their palms bled from the impacts of their chosen weapons, that the two found understanding for one another. With every blow, they became closer. A silent trust began to build between the two brothers. Despite their petty squabbles, differing morals, or opposing views - these two grew to share an unshakable love for one another. To be their brother’s keeper became a source of pride…

Walking past a coupling of trees that marked the end of the path that led to the opening that Celius and Mazu had chosen to hold their sparring session within in the past, Mazu moved directly towards the divergence in the tree to grab an item that he had normally left resting against its trunk. A short, five-foot, wooden bo-staff. Carved out by his Uncle-mentor as his initial training tool, this was his most beloved and cherished item within the entirety of the compound - including all of the frivolous and flashy gifts ordained upon the twins by their parents. While a curious child with a near-scientific mindset, he was still one to find love in simplicity. The directness of this crude, bludgeoning, weapon. The endless combinations found within the martial arts history that follows it. With his natural inclination towards both scientific and martial arts, it was only natural that he’d pick one of the most significant weapon categories noted to shape the very fates of mankind throughout the history of warfare.

Stepping forward, eyes steadily locked onto the familiar shape of his younger brother standing, ready and waiting, before him - Mazu couldn’t help but smile as he cocked his head back to let loose his normal starting jeer. While the two had come to this spot to bond and resolve any issues the two might have through a quick exchange of blows, he couldn’t help but pick at his brother. Despite the disdain the boy obviously felt for him, always seeing himself as second or inferior merely due to their age, the elder Aoi twin only wished to poke fun at his brother in hopes to finally crack his steeled disposition…

It had been so long since his brother he’d given him a sincere smile…

Mazu: “Oi, Celsius, always early, aren’t you? Don’t you have anything better to do than to keep getting beaten up? Maybe if you switched your studies from law and order to something cool like the history of military tactics, you’d have a chance? Well, what are you waiting for?”

The cockiness in his tone only hid the anxiety he felt. The pounding of his heart within his chest was like that of a vicious war drum threatening to break itself free of its confines. His hands were beginning to sweat as he attempted to spin his thin wooden polearm between his hands directly in front of him to create a swirling illusion of an expedient fan. Abruptly bringing this rotation to a stop, he’d attempt to appear confident and slam the brunt of the pole’s end into the ground below as he puffed out his chest and almost dared his brother to make the first move. A simple tactic, yet it always proved true. An offense born of defense, controlling your opponent's movements and guiding them to the point you wish so that you may counterattack or divert. A basic principle.

Mazu: “Come get me, you ugly little shit…”

Despite all his profound learning and prodigious achievements, it was in moments like these that Mazu’s lack of social awareness shone brightly. As in his insult, the boy had forgotten to account for the fact that these two were twins…

Such were the fallacies of Youth…

Standing amidst the secluded part of the garden, where resting on a tree was Celius's most over used through day and night wooden training sword, where he lacked in the advance knowledge unlike his elder brother, Celius had worked tirelessly to keep up in terms of physicality. His legs moving him closer towards the resting wooden sword, Celius's left hand, his dominant hand curled its fingers around the weapons handle, lifting it with little to no effort as his eyes watched the morning dew roll down the wooden blade, then a voice came from behind him; one in which he knew all to well, the same one whose very existence of excellence to their parents and family members created this ambitious need for strength and power. Without turning to face his Elder Twin Brother Mazu, Celius slowly extended his left arm out to his side, letting the wooden blade scatter the morning dew across the patches of dirt.
Mazu: “Oi, Celsius, always early, aren’t you? Don’t you have anything better to do than to keep getting beaten up? Maybe if you switched your studies from law and order to something cool like the history of military tactics, you’d have a chance? Well, what are you waiting for?”

Hearing his brothers words Celius initially gave no response as his left foot pivoted on its heel, turning his body about face to have his eyes look directly into his brothers. Watching his brothers movements with the bow staff, various memories played in his mind for a brief second, some of his own defeat to Mazu, and some being extremely rare moments where he bested Mazu through sheer tenacity. But as those memories ended with Mazu's natural method of taunting, Celius's left eye slightly twitched.
Mazu: “Come get me, you ugly little shit…”
"You do realize... We are twin's... So If i'm an Ugly little Shit.... That makes you one too..."
He retorted as his legs slowly slid across the dirt, his loafers pushing the soil aside, his left and right hand gripping the hand as he keeps the Wooden blade in a standard swordsman stance, as his Blue eyes stared forth towards his older Twin Brother. Though Celius was always one to remain calm, instead of letting himself fall for the taunt so that he would attack first, Celius remained steadfast in his position and location, his knee's slowly bending granting himself bracing from being blown back whilst simultaneous letting him have the leg mechanism to push back should a clash occur. His black hair slowly flowing with a warm gentle breeze as his smaller pony tail trails like a small veil of shadows. His focus honed on tracking his brothers Ki, but also his Intent itself he had prepared himself for the battle to come.
