Shinji a loose cannon and seemingly unknowing, was corrected by both Rutaba and Kaelon; both saiyans reminded him that the next day would be for rest, Shinji: "Oh..." Scratching his head just as lost as ever. He'd sink into the water submerging his body up till only the top half of his head was showing with his eyes barely above the water. Ban remained relaxed and unbothered, he was quieter than a falling feather, Kaelon who was meditating let of a soft chuckle as the saiyan child and the demon went back forth for a moment splashing water at each other. He could tell that the two of them have had a unique and odd bond, for some reason the selfish demon clung to the young saiyan like a malevolent spirit.
Kaelon: "You two are quite the dynamic duo... after found you guys were found wandering in west city, I thought you two were a bunch of delinquents, but you seem quite alright. Also, Rutaba, if you're hungry, maybe this will help settle your stomach till we head to eat"

Opening one of the silver links on his belt he pulled a candy bar and tossing it towards the saiyan child who was mesmerized by the thought of food. Kaelon: "This should help till we can get something cooked up." the chocolate covered protein bar was healthy nutritious snack that should settle the saiyan child's stomach. As Ban tried to relax his mind was clouded with old and recent memories, Shinji would glance at him for a moment without speaking; it was easy to tell that he was deeply troubled by something. Despite his friendly smile Ban harbored a deep dark secret that slowly tainted his pure heart. Kaelon: "By the way Inugami, if you think this beating was quite brutal, just wait; you haven't experienced anything yet." Letting out a slight chuckle before returning to his meditation while waiting for the others to finish soaking while they recovered from there injuries.

𝓐 scoff left her mouth at Kuina's words, shooting another one of her usual glares at the woman before that playful smile spread across her lips. She practically skipped to the kitchen, hands folded neatly behind her back the entire way.

The half-saiyan wasted no time and dragging out half of the food they had stored away, knowing full well that even between the three Saiyan-blooded beings she did know about, she figured that the people around them were probably also extremely hungry. Though, she didn't know exactly how much they students would eat, but she knew that her, Zhongli and Kaelon would absolutely demolish everything she made. So, with the help of Kuina, the two women set to work.

In no time, the kitchen began to permeate the savory smells of beef, chicken, bacon, lamb, garlic, cajun, lemon and a mingling of so many other smells that could tickle the brain in such a way that drew anyone curious in. In an hours' time, plates of food were being carried from the kitchen and were placed on the longest table in the dinner hall. Stuffed chicken, pot roast, lemon steaks, barbeque pulled pork, braised lamb, cajun ribs, garlic bread, cole slaw, potato salad, cupcakes, brownies, angel food cake.

The delicious smells wafted around the room, her hands pressing into her hips with a wide grin of triumph. She finally turned, calling loudly to the entire temple. "Dinner is ready!"

Sitting at the table, as he continued to think about how he will go about the final day of training; His mind still fixated on how he plans to go about the training. That was all until the scent of food filled the dinning hall as his eyes snapped out of his train of thought, looking as Kuina and Rayne brought palettes of food the mix of various scents filling the dinning hall, as such his eyes lighting up as he clapped his hands together with such delight as he watched the pride coming from Rayne. As such he spoke with a delighted tone,
"You've outdone yourself again Rayne!"
He said as he immediately reached for a stuffed chicken leg attempting to tear it off to begin consuming his fill. Unlike normally where Rayne forces him to thank for the food this could possibly open up a comedic scene of her snapping at him as his gluttonous nature was overtaking his sense of reason.

Inugami looks over at Rutaba with a smirk upon hearing his answer, which made him worry about whether if they would have enough to eat. He looks up at the sky with a sigh of relief as he listens to the others chat and talk about their own thing, some he wonders if they will be around within the few years or will they go and seek out their own adventures across the stars, maybe he will find something that is worth so much more than what his home can give, the resources, the cycle of life, the power to grow and evolve into a greater being like the heroes from centuries ago who once grazed this universe with their own deeds, however, his thoughts were interrupted by Kaelon who mentions if he thinks it was a brutal, the training this Zhongli guy has in stored could be worse which made him gulp in worry at the possibility of having to spar with the much older man "You mean that barely scratched the surface?!" he says in pure terror which made his body flare up with heat that increased the water's temperature.

The moment the smell of freshly cooked food drifted through the dojo, Rutaba froze mid-step.

His nose twitched once.

Then twice.

His turquoise eyes slowly widened.

“Mmm…”

A second later his stomach let out a deafening growl that echoed through the dining hall loud enough to make him grab his own belly with both hands.

“…Maaaaan…” he groaned dramatically, throwing his head back. “I’m STARVING!!”

He turned toward Inugami so fast his tail whipped behind him.

“Inugami!”

Without waiting for an answer, Rutaba grabbed the older boy by the wrist with both hands and immediately started tugging him toward the dining hall with surprising strength for someone his size.

“C’mon! C’mon! If we’re late they’re gonna eat everything!”

His pace only quickened as another incredible wave of delicious smells rolled over him.

Roasted chicken.

Fresh rice.

Grilled fish.

Steaming noodles.

Vegetables.

Broth.

Dumplings.

His eyes sparkled.

“I swear I could eat…” He paused to think very seriously.

“…Twenty bowls.”

Another step.

“…No…”

His grin stretched from ear to ear.

“Twenty-five bowls!”

He puffed his chest out proudly.

“Actually… make it THIRTY!”

Rutaba laughed to himself, already imagining mountain-sized stacks of food waiting for him.

By the time they reached the table, his self-control had completely evaporated.

“FOOOOOOOOD!!”

He practically dove into an open seat, reaching for the nearest bowl of steaming rice before piling it high with whatever he could grab first — chunks of roasted meat, grilled fish, vegetables, dumplings, and an extra chicken leg balanced precariously on top.

He didn’t waste even a second.

“ITADAKIMASU!”

The words flew out of his mouth almost as quickly as the food disappeared. Between bites, his tail wagged happily behind him while his bruised shoulders visibly relaxed for the first time all day.

Training had been brutal.

Tomorrow might be worse.

But right now…

Nothing in the world mattered more to Rutaba than seeing just how many bowls of food a growing Saiyan could actually finish.

The smell of a nice home cooked meal filled the air, Ban who was resting calmly and quietly shot up quickly as the aroma hit his nose; eyes widened like a child receiving a new toy. Meanwhile the devil spawn appeared in the kitchen the moment Rayne announced that dinner was ready navigating through the dojo by following the scent of delicious cooking. His eyes fixated on the delicious meal, mouthwatering, the smell alone was captivating and mesmerizing. Fantasizing over the first bite his mind wondered into a world imagination, all around were giant floating plates of Stuffed chicken, pot roast, lemon steaks, barbeque pulled pork, braised lamb, cajun ribs, garlic bread, cole slaw, potato salad, cupcakes, brownies, angel food cake. In all his life he hadn't been invited so such a feast in his life ready to dig in. Kaelon sat down at the table with a big smile on his face while rubbing his palms together ready fill his empty stomach.

Kaelon
/Shinji/Ban: "Thank you"

Each one of them offer their gratitude before digging in, within a brief moment Kaelon, Ban, and Shinji were already starting on their second plate. The three of them devoured their first plate in under a minute, each bite was savory and flavorful. Shinji: "Man this is so good" chomping down and stuffing his mouth full of brownies. Shinji could tell that a lot thought and effort was put into this meal, it was much better than the junk food usually ate. He was grateful and so was Ban and Kaelon although this was usually for Kaelon he still ate like this was his first meal in a long time; his favorite part was the angel food cake, and the potato salad. Ban really enjoyed the cajun ribs and garlic bread. Once they began to dig not another word was spoken until their plates were cleared.

𝓐 swell of pride filled Rayne at Zhongli's praise of her cooking, even if he hadn't eaten any of it yet. The sweet and savory smell that wafted around the dining hall made her stand taller, ready to get her own plate as well, knowing she'd be piling on quite a bit on her own plate, but she wanted to wait for everyone else to grab their plates so that she knew the trainees would have their fill first.499bf5c8-7e97-454b-915b-d726e109f7c4.png
With a happy smile at everyone else's thank yous, Rayne realized there was one who hadn't spoke of gratefulness: and she wasn't going to let him get away with it.

Rayne reached out and snatched hold of Zhongli's ear just before the utensil carrying the delectable dinner could even reach his lips. With her other hand holding onto one of the serving spoons, she attempted to tap at his hand holding the cutlery, knowing it wouldn't hurt him, but at the very least startle him into dropping the tasty morsel that held on for dear life.
"Oh, husband, sweet," she said, turning a green-eyed glare upon him. "I think you forgot to say something to me before you even thought of putting any of this food in your stomach." She gave a small twist of his ear before releasing him, standing up and staring at him with a stern look, her arms crossing over her chest.

"Honestly, the children have more manners than you. Hungry oaf." There was a hint of a smile behind Rayne's expression, but she did her best to keep a firm grasp on the wooden spoon in her hand.

As Zhongli was about to dig in the sudden snatching of his ear with a cooking utensil halted the advancement of the nourishment to his frontal orifice as he listened to Rayne's proclamation. His blue eyes staring at the food before averting towards Rayne as she let go of his ear he subtly cleared his throat, using his right hand over his mouth as he spoke with a cautious almost wary tone,
"Ah. Correct, Thank you for such a delightful spread of food Rayne dear."
He said before placing his leg of pheasant meat into his mouth tearing chunks away from it, for the next thirty or so minutes the table was a gluttons festival, dished piling up which Kaelon would be the one to clean as Zhongli after forty minutes of getting his fill, sat back in his lavishing chair, where only he, Rayne, and Kuina had the most comfortable chair in the Temple. Nice silk plush chairs with back cushioning and arm rests. And though he sat back enjoying his fulfillment Kuina approached beside Rayne, a mischievous glint in her eyes,
"Look at you, playing such a devouted house wife. Only took you several months to get use to it."
Her words a hushed whisper as she kept her lips towards Raynes ears.

Inugami would scan over the long line of food that was cooked by people he wanna thank them for cooking up such delicious food with scents that made his stomach growl the loudest, an audible deep gurgling growl that made those near him know that his stomach demands nutrition, demanding food to be stuffed down his gut. Like Shinji, his eyes were like stars when he saw more of what was cooked and wasn't sure whether he should grab some vegetables with some fruit and dumplings or a mix of everything, looking back at the monks within the mess hall and seeing them eating different bowls of food they got individual, especially, Rutaba who grabbed steanubg rice then pile it high, chunk of roasted meat, grilled fish, vegetables, dumplings, and extra chicken legs which made him chuckle at the boy who was apparently hungry. He would grab a food tray and make a Shojin Ryoji with what he saw, as well as some Dorayaki and Matcha Swiss Roll added to his tray before sitting down next to Rutaba.

Breaking the chopsticks apart and clasping his hands together, eyes closed and having a small prayer before muttering "Itadakimasu" before going to town on his meal, the first bite made him moan in bliss with tears streaming down his face while munching on the food; he would continue munching from each bowl he got onto his tray and have more exaggerated expressions from every bite, his ecstasy visible and bright with his magic flaring around his body in the form of phoenix flames that appear to rise then dim down when he calms down. He looks over at his companions with a mouth-full smile that almost made the food fall out, but he caught it with his chopsticks before gulping it all down with ease, then reached over to grab the wooden handle of a kettle sitting on a portable wood stove and a cup, then poured the hot water before dropping his own personal tag from his inner pocket into the cup, grabbing a container of sugar before pouring some before stirring it with his finger showing how accustomed his body is to hot things. Taking a slow and longing sip of his chameleon tea before setting it down and sighing with content, then continues to munch on his meal.

Rutaba barely looked up from his mountain of food as another bowl of rice vanished into his stomach.

“…Mmm!”

He swallowed with a satisfied sigh before immediately reaching for another chicken leg.

“This is soooo good!”

His tail wagged furiously behind him while he happily tore into another mouthful, completely unaware of the growing stack of empty bowls beside him. One by one they formed a small tower at his elbow, yet the young Saiyan showed no signs of slowing down.

Then he heard it.

The unmistakable sound of someone enjoying their food just as much as he was.

Rutaba glanced sideways.

His eyes landed on Inugami.

Rutaba glanced over just long enough to notice Inugami seemed to be enjoying the food every bit as much as he was.

Rutaba blinked.

“…Whoa.”

He chewed thoughtfully for a moment.

Then a huge grin spread across his face.

“I knew you’d like it!”

He laughed, pointing at Inugami with the chicken leg still in his hand.

“See? I told you this place had awesome food!”

Another bite disappeared.

Crunch.

Swallow.

Rutaba scooped up another overflowing mound of rice.

“You looked all worried back there…”

“…Now look at you!”

He chuckled again.

“You’ve got the same face I do when I find extra dessert!”

Without missing a beat, he picked up another dumpling and tossed it into his mouth.

“Mmph!”

After swallowing, he leaned a little closer, lowering his voice as though sharing the greatest secret in the universe.

“…I’m gonna beat my record.”

His eyes gleamed with determination.

“I said thirty bowls…”

He glanced at the steadily shrinking pile of food in front of him.

“…But…”

A confident grin spread across his face.

“I think I can do forty.”

He sat back proudly for exactly two seconds.

Then his stomach growled again.

Rutaba looked down at it.

“…You heard that too, huh?”

He laughed at himself before grabbing another bowl and immediately digging back in.

“Guess that means there’s still room!”

Between mouthfuls he looked back toward Inugami with a bright smile.

“Hey, when we’re done eating…”

“…Think Zhongli would get mad if we asked for seconds?”

He paused.

“…Or thirds?”

Another pause.

“…Or maybe… fifteenths?”

Rutaba couldn’t help laughing at his own joke before returning his full attention to the feast, happily continuing his seemingly endless mission to discover just how many bowls of food a growing Saiyan could actually eat.
